About Retili

Retili makes one thing, and makes it properly.

Most body care is built to a price. A cheap carrier oil, a synthetic fragrance to cover the smell of it, a clear plastic bottle that lets light destroy whatever actives survived the factory. It sells because it is on the shelf at eye level, not because it works.

We started Retili because the skin on your body ages faster than the skin on your face — and almost nobody treats it that way. Arms, chest, shins and the backs of the hands take decades of sun while the entire skincare industry points its best ingredients at a five-inch square around the nose.

What we actually do differently

We chose bakuchiol over retinol. Retinol works, but it comes with a tax: flaking, redness, months of "purging" that a lot of people simply give up on. Bakuchiol is a plant-derived alternative that supports the same look of renewal without the sting — which matters enormously on mature and easily-irritated skin.

We use a form of vitamin C that survives in oil. Water-soluble vitamin C oxidises fast and separates out of an oil base. Ascorbyl tetraisopalmitate does not. It costs several times more per kilo, and it is the difference between a formula that works on the last day of the bottle and one that does not.

We put it in amber glass. Light is the enemy of an active formula. Clear plastic is cheaper and photographs brighter, and we are not willing to make that trade.

Sixteen botanicals, no filler base. Every ingredient in the bottle is there because it does something. Nothing is in there to make up volume.

What we will not do

We will not tell you a cosmetic is a medicine. Retili Renewing Body Oil moisturises, softens and improves the appearance of dry, rough, sun-stressed skin. It is not a treatment for any medical condition, and we will never suggest it is. If you have a patch of skin that is new, changing, bleeding or refusing to heal, please see a dermatologist — that is a real medical issue and it deserves a real doctor, not a body oil.

We will not invent reviews, borrow stock photographs of other people's results, or run a countdown timer that resets when you reload the page. If we ever earn a wall of five-star reviews, they will be from people who actually bought the thing.

The 90-day guarantee

Skincare cannot be judged in a week. So use it properly for three months — and if your skin is not visibly happier, email us and we will refund you. You keep the bottle. There is no form, no restocking fee and no attempt to talk you out of it.

That is not generosity, it is confidence. We would rather lose the sale than have someone feel stuck with a product that did not suit them.
